Desperately need help from London locals please?

Tomorrow I get in to Waterloo Station at noon and I have twenty to thirty minutes to walk to Covent Garden Underground; is this possible, and is it easy to find? I would take the tube but I have a phobia of being underground (don't laugh!).

Thanks.

Desperately need help from London locals please?
Yes, you can do it. But don't waste time wandering around - you'll need to stay focused and don't get side-tracked!

Ask one of the station guards which exit to use to get to Waterloo Bridge (there are several exits and if u take the wrong one, you could get lost!)

Walk across Waterloo Bridge and carry on walking straight on for a few minutes until you come to a main road called 'The Strand'.

At The Strand, turn left and walk down The Strand and then take the third turning on the right (Southampton Street).

At the end of Southampton Street turn left into Henrietta Street, Then First right into Covent Garden, right again into King Street. Then First left into James Street. And there a few yards in front of you is Covent Garden Station.

Now if you follow these directions to the book, you can not go wrong!

Good Luck and if u do divert or are not sure if you're heading in the right direction, ask someone official. Because if u ask the wrong person, with the best of intentions, they'll send u the wrong way!
Reply:You can get there in around 15 minutes, walk to the Golden Jubilee bridges (Hungerford bridge in old money) and walk up through Trafalgar Square to Covent Garden.
Reply:No it is not possible to walk it in 20-30 minutes. You will have to get a taxi. Shame you do not do the undergound as it would be very easy to go from Waterloo to Covent Garden.
Reply:Walk over Waterloo bridge, turn left into the strand, the station lays back about 200yds up on the right.
Reply:Have a look on www.tfl.gov.uk. It's a fair walk how about getting a bus?
Reply:Hi if you come out Waterloo Station go over waterloo bridge turn left on the strand then right onto southampton st very simple honest and you should take less than 15-20mins walking
Reply:It's not far to walk - about 20 minutes. Cross Waterloo Bridge then carry straight on until you come to Floral Street on your left. Covent Garden Station is in Floral Street. Or you could get a bus - that'd probably take almost the same time, but it would be dry if it's raining. There are loads of bus stops around the station and very many different buses. So you'd need to look for some kind of bus map. Or, use www.tfl.gov.uk which will give you loads of help - and maps that you can print.
Reply:Yes.... I do it most days. It's a really great walk seeing lots of sights. Simply, come out of Waterloo Station and head for the Royal festival halls..... all clearly sign posted. Walk across Hungerford foot bridge (jubilee bridges now) and once the other side of the Thames keeping walking but don't go down the steps on the other side by Embankment Tube Station..... walk through the passage way above Villiers Street passing a few market stalls usually into Charing Cross Station and exit through the other side of the public concourse..... cross the strand and walk past the old Charing Cross Police Station...... up into Covent Garden market area.... and you'll find the tube station... clearly sign posted all the way. It takes me around 18 minutes or so.
Reply:Yes, it's possible in 20 minutes, but walk fairly fast.

Look on

www.walkit.com

for detailed directions. Just enter your starting poiint as Waterloo station and end point as Covent garden underground station, and it will give you detailed directions.

It's not hard to find.

Hope this helps.
Reply:Straight over Waterloo Bridge and keep going,

You should do it easily in 20 minutes.
Reply:You can walk from Waterloo Station to Covent Garden in 15 minutes. Walk north from the station across Waterloo Bridge.

On reaching Aldwych turn left into the Strand and then any turning on the right will lead to Covent Garden.
Reply:You can do this walk in about 20 minutes. Look for the South Bank exit at Waterloo. You will see the IMAX cinema, to the left you will see Waterloo Gardens. Walk up here and cross Waterloo Bridge. Keep going straight on , the road names are Lancaster Place, then Bow Street.

Turn left into Floral Street, and you have arrived.

Look at Transport for London planner and they will give you a map too.
Reply:should be possible
