Anyone have
experience of
challenging a
parking ticket
issued by
Westminster city
council?

I was picking my mother and her friend up from Covent Garden and couldn't have stopped for more than 5 minutes, if that. Just wonder whether it's worth fighting the ticket - has anyone had any success in similar circumstances?

rip it up and when they send you the reminder write an irate letter stating that there was no ticket on your car when you returned to it, even if they have records of a ticket if it werent on your car how could you know about it? i did this once here in wales and got away with it so worth a try.
Reply:Be careful about taking Celtic's advice... I did used to write in and 6 out of 10 were dropped.

The problem you will face now though is that most councils (and I am not sure whether Westminster is) arm wardens with digital cameras... so you might get a letter back with the fine doubled and a piccie to back it up... Good luck!
Reply:The lengh of time doesn't matter. You're guilty. Pay up and stop ignoring signs saying "NO PARKING OR STOPPING"

It does NOT mean no parking except to pick up your mother, it means NO PARKING!!!!!!!!!
Reply:Well call up the city council....challenge the guy who has written you the ticket, ask his creditials and tell him/her about your 5 min stop. Normally, they will back off...atleast that's what they did with my friends case. 'em guys are buncha morons
Reply:ticketed for what?

just the paid the fine, i am sure its not much, and get the monkeys off you A**.
