Does anyone know an easy route (so easy i won't get lost) to walk from covent garden to kings cross?

going to the theatre with a four year old don't fancy a crowded five o clock tube ride back to kings cross it dosn't look to far on a map think that this will be easier than getting squashed

That is a long way for a 4 year old to walk if they aren't used to it. 4 busy roads to cross.
